Psychology of Sleep & Dreams by Gregg Prescott, M.S.
Dreams are a coping mechanism to prevent mental overload. They occur during the REM stage of sleep and have many different facets. They can help your subconscious memory unload that day’s (or possibly recent) underlying unfinished frustrations and repressed emotions such as worries or concerns; they can serve as premonitions, they can be a sign to change something in your life or they may merely be an over-riding thought from a recent activity.
We don’t recall most of our dreams, which is partially attributed to the catharsis our dreams give us by having the opportunity to unload certain worries or concerns without mentally remembering and subsequently reliving them in our dream state. At that point, our minds are satisfied with the unconscious resolution of the dream, so we tend not to remember them.
Conversely, when we’re very satisfied in most areas of our life, we’ll tend to have positive and enjoyable dreams.
There’s so much more to dreams such as a physiological aspect that involves the autonomic arousal system and various schools of thought such as the expectation fulfillment theory, but we don’t need to go there in this article!
Many in this field believe dreams are symbolic representations and/or metaphors of what’s going on our conscious mind, and may come out in various metaphors and symbols within our dreams. For example, if a man secretly wanted to have sex with his secretary, the dream might be represented by the man dreaming about his secretary pushing a file cabinet drawer in and out. The in-and-out motion represents a sexual movement, without actually dreaming of the real thing. In this school of thought, everything has some kind of meaning in our dream, including colors, sounds, smells, temperature, etc, but the emotions behind the dream is the imperative driving force to why we dream.
The reason we dream in metaphors and symbols is because the dreams may be interpreted or confused by our memory’s conscious mind as reality.
Right now, it's very common for people to have dreams about 2012 regarding family and saftey. Many dreams in this genre may also include some form of military representation, which could represent one's faith (or lack of faith) in our current government system. These type of dreams often involve a catastrophic event or the prelude to one.
If you're experiencing these types of dreams, then your subconscious mind is telling you that you haven't found a viable resolution to this problem. At this point, one may begin to ponder other scenarios or options in which the subconcious and conscious mind can both agree upon.

Tri-Star Presents A Film Directed By Carl Schultz, And Produced By Ted Field And Robert W. Cort. Screenplay By W. W. Wicket And George Kaplan. Photographed By Juan Ruiz Anchia. Edited By Caroline Biggerstaff. Music By Jack Nitzsche. Running Time: 94 Minutes. Classified R.
"The Seventh Sign" begins with portents of the apocalypse. The rivers run with blood, the sea boils, the desert freezes, the birds fall from the sky, the earth shakes, and things are not so hot out on the beach in California, either. A strange man with burning eyes has just rented the little apartment over the garage in the backyard of Demi Moore's house, and she finds ancient Hebrew manuscripts in his desk - in a secret code.
This is the kind of movie where I tend to settle back and relax. I actually enjoy thrillers about biblical prophecies and the second coming and the Anti-Christ. After the sheer anarchy unleashed upon Hollywood by the slice-and-dice movies, it's actually comforting to know that these characters play by the rules. They believe in good and evil, and they act as if individual human beings can have an influence on the outcome of events. Compared to the "Friday the 13th" world view, "The Seventh Sign" is positively sanguine.
Like "Rosemary's Baby," "The Exorcist" and "The Omen" movies, this one places its supernatural events within a framework that at first seems everyday and sane. There is an art to this process. You show characters going about the mundane events of their routine daily lives, but on the soundtrack you play a far-off Gregorian chant, so it's clear that the forces of evil are marshalling their troops offscreen.
Moore has the central role, as a woman who has lost one child during pregnancy and is now fearful of losing another. The story begins in the last two months of her pregnancy, with her husband (Michael Biehn) lending moral support while her doctor shows her the fetus on a television screen. There's a lot of talk, of course, about the quantity of her amniotic fluid. Why is it that movies about the forces of darkness always place such an emphasis on the details of the female reproductive process? Ever since Charles Grodin played the gynecologist in "Rosemary's Baby," you can't see one of these movies without learning something about pregnancy.
But I digress. Moore is strong and clear in the movie's central role, and proves once again (after "About Last Night") that she has a genuine charisma, an aura of intelligence and resolve, reinforced by her throaty voice. I was not sure at first, however, that she was the correct choice for this movie. I thought she was perhaps too strong, and that the role required more of a screamer.
Not so. By the end of the film, she is called upon to save the planet and all living things upon it, and so she needs that strength.
She provides a strong center to the film, but the rest of it, alas, is all over the map. I am not even sure I completely understood all of the details. What connection was there, for example, between the Hebrew code letters with their wax seals and the dread events that followed every time one was opened? What were those flashbacks to Roman times? Who was that strange priest who traveled around the globe, checking out the frozen deserts and bloody rivers? And on whose side was the boarder over the garage? By the end of the movie, I was fairly certain of the answers to most of those questions, but the body of the film seemed almost deliberately confused and obscure, to no purpose. Why not explain the priest's actual mission, instead of saving it for a denouement at the last minute? Wouldn't that have been more interesting? And why is it that only the characters in the movie seem to be aware that things are going to hell and the apocalypse is at hand? To be sure, CNN has nonstop bulletins about the weird events taking place in the world, but nobody in the street seems much affected. In fact, the movie's two earthquakes are not commented on by anyone - not even the leading characters.
And then there is the problem of the ending of the movie. I have to go at this very delicately, so as not to give too much away.
But if you see the film, ask yourself this. When the baby reaches out his hand toward the mother's face, why doesn't he simply touch it? If you see what I mean.

Prophesy of the Chalam Balam Who was Cantor, in the ancient Maní.
1. In the Thirteen Ahau Katún, in the late stages of life of the Katún, the Itzá will be swept away and the fall of Tancáh, Father, will follow.
2. In a sign of the only God (Hunab Ku, "Only-Deity", supreme deity of the Mayan pantheon) of the highest, a Sacred Tree will come, manifistation of all that illuminates the world, Father.
3. Time will sink the whole plot, time will cause the Occult to be sunk, when the men of the Sun (Ah Kines, "Priests-of-the-solar-cult") will come bringing prognostications of the future, Father.
4. In a distant shout, in a distant measurement, they will come and now you will see the pheasant that stands out above the Tree of Life (Uaom Ché, timber-erect).
5. The land will awaken in the North and West. Itzam will awaken.
6. Your Father comes very near, Itzaes; your brother, Ah tan-tunes comes.
7. Receive your bearded guests who come from lands of the East, conductors of the sign of God, Father.
8. Good and wise is the word of God that comes to you. The day of your life comes. Do not waste it here in the world, Father.
9. "You are the only god who created us": thus will be the kindly word of God of the master of our souls. He who receives it with all his faith, he will achieve felicity.
10. But it is the beginning of the men of the second time.
11. When their signal (vibration) is raised up high, when they raise it with the Tree of Life, all will suddenly change in one blow. And the successor of the first tree of the land will appear and the change will be manifested for all.
12. The sign of the Only God from above (Hunab Ku), he that you must worship, Itzaes. Worship the new sign from the heavens, worship it with all your will, worship the true God who is this, Father.
13. Put in yourselves the word of the Only God, Father.
14. From heaven comes the one who spreads the word for you, in order to enliven your spirit, Itzaes.
15. It will dawn for those who believe, within the Katún that follows, Father.
16. And now my word enters into the night. I, who am Chilam Balam, have explained the word of God in the world, so that all the great county will hear it, Father. It is the word of God, Lord of heaven and earth.
Known as Time's Special Witness, 7th century Mayan prophet Pacal Votan left a universal message for future generations of an evolving Earth.
Proclaiming,"If Humanity Wishes To Save Itself From Biospheric Destruction It Must Return To Living in Natural Time," he foretold of our accelerated technological society, and the resulting damage of our collective divergence from Natural Law in exchange for materialist values.
Pacal Votan's prophetic call is alerting present-day humanity that our biological process is transforming, approaching the culmination of a 26,000 year evolutionary program. Bringing the return of universal telepathy, heightened sense capacity, and self-reflective consciousness, this is a return to the sacred domain of our inner technology.
This grand cycle of evolution will culminate on the winter solstice, December 21, 2012 AD.
The Truth behind the Mayan Calendar: This is not a “Doomsday” event! by Gregg Prescott March 10, 2009 http://www.maya12-21-2012.com/
The Mayan culture based many of their beliefs on advanced astrology and mathematics, which included a system of calendars that are more precise than our current Gregorian calendar. The Long Count is a period of 5,125 years that ends on December 21, 2012. In total, the Long Count consists of approximately 260 twenty year units. On December 21, 2012, the earth will complete a wobble on its axis, known as precession.
Time, to us, is something lineal that is measured by a day unit, which is the length of time it takes for the Earth to spin one time on its axis. It takes the Earth 365.25 days to complete an orbit around the Sun. Every fourth year, we have a leap year, which makes up for the .25 accumulated in the previous 3 years. From our Gregorian model, we can assume the winter equinox will occur on December 21st and the summer equinox will occur on June 21st.
For the Mayans, the position of the Sun determined the solstices, equinoxes and new years. The pyramid of Kukulcan at Chichen-Itza in Mexico is an excellent example of how well the Mayans kept time.
On 12/21/2012, the winter solstice precesses through the Milky Way, which was of great mythological importance to the Mayans.
This is the point where conflicting “opinions” have segregated the two polar views of the Mayan calendar and Mayan prophecies.
Unfortunately, there are too many "Doomsday" and "Apocalyptic" 2012 websites that are flooding the internet with a cataclysmic view of 2012. All one needs to do is to study and research the Mayan culture and calendar(s) to find out what the true interpretation of the Mayan prophecies are to know this is not a day of cataclysm.
I am the webmaster of one of the few websites that presents 2012 in a positive light and I am truly amazed at how many panic-stricken people there are regarding the Mayan calendar end date of 12-21-2012. Some people have gone to various extremes of buying bunkers to live in, purchasing guns and ammunition for safety and security reasons and stockpiling up on food and water.
Simply stated, the Mayan "prophecies" are based on the Popol Vuh, which is the Mayan Creation Myth story.
Recently, I interviewed 2012 luminary John Major Jenkins (author of Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, Tzolkin, Pyramid of Fire and Galactic Alignment) and asked him about the Mayan prophecies.
"The one and only true 2012 prophecy that I perceive is the one that exists in the Maya Creation Myth (the Popol Vuh), which is reinforced by the astral theology encoded onto the carved monuments at Izapa – the place that invented the 2012 calendar," stated Jenkins. "If this is the prophecy you are referring to, the first part of it has already come to pass. It has to do with the self serving egoism (Seven Macaw) controlling and deceiving people at the end of the cycle. The second part of the prophecy is indeterminate and will be experienced differently for each individual, as it involves the challenges of placing ego back into right relationship with the true eternal self (One Hunahpu), through sacrificing the illusions installed by ego. The second part of the prophecy is indeterminate, and not definitive in some kind of predetermined vision of a fated future, because free will exists."
The date on the Mayan calendar is represented as 13.0.0.0.0, which is the end of the13 baktun period, or one “Great Cycle”. Jenkins firmly believes the Mayan calendar will start over on the following day, represented as 0.0.0.0.1. “Waiting for 2012 is like waiting for a bus, and not realizing that you are the bus,” Jenkins added, “The experience of Now, of the eternal present, is not located on a calendar.”
I recently visited the Mayan ruins in Tulum and spoke with a Mayan gentleman by the name of Beto who stated, “The last and current lines of humans were made from corn because humans, like corn, will come from the dirt and follow a similar cycle. Corn begins with a seed in the dirt, becomes a corn stalk and eventually food. At this point, the corn stalk dies and goes back into the dirt as the cycle continues once again. The cycle of planting corn is every 260 days, the same as human gestation.”
According to Beto, "When katun 20 comes (12/21/2012), the people of corn will no longer be humans". I asked Beto to elaborate further on this statement to which he replied, "Something bigger will happen to change our perspective of life."
We're currently on the Mayan's fifth Sun. The First Sun was destroyed by water, the second by fire, the third by hurricanes and the fourth by natural catastrophes. On this current sun, we are called the "People of Corn".
Through conjecture, one could surmise that 12/21/2012 will also end in catastrophe but there is no indication that this will occur.
There are some interesting points behind the Mayan calendar end date. On 12/21/2012, the sun, Earth and the center of the Milky Way Galaxy align in an event that happens only once every 26,000 years or so. It's amazing to think how the Mayans knew this over 3,000 years ago.
If you look at the lineage of man, "somehow" we went from homo erectus to homo habilis to homo sapien without any gradual change between lineages. In other words, we had a DNA upgrade in each scenario. Will this pattern continue in 2012?
Through "The Secret" we've already learned how to tap into the 5th dimension by having thoughts equal manifestations. There is still work and effort needed for our thoughts to become manifestations at this point in time.
Here are the possible scenarios for 2012.
1. 2012 is a cataclysmic event. In this scenario, there would be martial law imposed on us, total chaos, a lack of medical attention, the possibility of no electricity or clean water, etc... For those who survive this "cataclysmic" event, what would the quality of life be like? Dismal at best.
2. 2012 happens and we receive a DNA upgrade. In other words, your thoughts will equal manifestations. That sounds great. You could manifest a cold beverage by just thinking about it! That could also create "Hell on Earth". Imagine the person who lives in fear or constantly has negative thoughts. For example, let's imagine someone constantly thinks someone may shoot him on any given day, so he packs a gun when he leaves the house. If thoughts become manifestations, every time he thinks someone might shoot him, then guess what? They will be!
3. Nothing happens and we all have a good laugh.
Chances are scenario three is most likely where nothing happens, yet the 2012 mania is incredibly similar to the negative sensationalism we see on the 6 o'clock news regarding how 2012 is presented as a cataclysmic event.
The simplest answer is to live your life as if scenario two were to happen. All that takes is being one with yourself and the world, along with thinking positive thoughts and doing good deeds for others. Live for TODAY! Live for the NOW! If nothing happens, then you've helped to make this world a better place and you've probably gained a lot in the world of spirituality.
Life is about making choices. The best choices are made after fully researching an issue and making a sound and responsible decision based on fact, not hysteria.

The earth goes through a magnetic pole reversal once evry 12,000 years or so. We are due for one sometime in the near future. If you lived near a coastline, would you consider moving before 2012?
